Dec 10, 2021 - Kindergarten (Friday)

हरी ॐ Dear Parents:

We are continuing to study the Alphabets and enjoying our time with your sweet children.

During the last 2 months we learnt Alphabet C, D, E, F, and G.

We start all the classes with chanting of 3 OM's followed by the opening prayer, Om Sahanavavatu. At this time all the children are able to say the opening prayer without any difficulty.

Letter C stands for cleanliness-we taught the children the importance of being clean and explained that not only the body and our surroundings should stay clean, but also our minds. We also discussed the different ways in which we can stay clean, and the story of the royal horse who refused to have a bath in a pond which was full of dirty water. We continued to practise the alphabet chant and learnt that "Cleanliness is Godliness".

Letter D stands for Daddy-we learnt the importance of our father in our lives, and understood how many sacrifices he makes everyday to provide everything to make our lives comfortable. The children also conducted an interview with their dads and we discussed it in the next class. The children enjoyed the activity and were very enthusiastic and happy to share some fun facts about their dads with all their friends in class. "Pitru Devo Bhava '' was also explained to the children , and they folded their hands to express their gratitude to their fathers.

Letter E stands for Enthusiasm- every act that we perform must be completed with a sense of wonder and excitement rather than being grumpy or sad. We learnt the story of the small  chipmunk, Gitu, who in spite of being small was able to assist the bigger animals when there was a flood in the forest-he was a happy and sweet person, who wouldn't let anyone else's negative comments bring him down, and by staying joyful was able to be a huge help to everyone. We learnt the Enthusiasm song-Go, Go Go and fly, Soar Soar in the sky, Work, work hard and try, You'll make it just don't cry.

Letter F stands for Friendship-the children enjoyed sharing stories about their friends in school and we watched the story of the friendship between Sudama and Lord Krishna when they were studying in the Gurukul-how Krishna's love for Sudama was so deep that he was able to understand Sudama's pain even without him telling Krishna about it. The alphabet chanting continued and we sang that F is for Friendship- A Friend in Need is a Friend indeed.

This week we learnt that the letter G stands for God , and we discussed everybody's ishta devataa, and l;earnt the song "Krishna Here Krishna There, Krishna Krishna Everywhere, God is One , God is One, God is one for everyone" We will be doing pooja in the class next week.

Slokhas and Geeta Chanting:

We have completed learning Chapter 2 Slokha 39.

We also learnt the closing prayer, Om Sarve Bhavathu Sukhinaha, Ekadanta Mahakaayam, Monojavam Marutha Thulya vegam and the Pledge.

We will continue to practise what we have already learnt. Please practise the prayers with the children at home as well.

We also did marble meditation, yoga and played Krishna Says in the class.

Thank you and Hari Om,
Kavita and Priya
