Oct 15, 2021 - Grade 9 (Friday)

Hari Om! Parents,

We began class with starting prayers and reviewed Bhagawad Geeta
verses. After a recap, we proceeded into looking at cause and effect-
a part of the physical world as well as the mental world. In the
physical world, Newton's law that every action has an equal and
opposite reaction is well known and can be used to understand this
with respect to thoughts as well. We inferred that cause and effect is
the relationship between 2 things or the law of consequences sometimes
referred to as sowing and reaping.

While it is a great first step to have goals, without the effort, they
will stay unachieved. So efforts or the means become the cause for
outcomes or ends or effects. This cornerstone of Hindu thought puts
the responsibility of the course of a being's life squarely in his/her
lap.Later on, we will extend this thought that the effect is nothing
but the cause modified.

Students talked about what efforts or means they must use to reach
their individual goals covering both short term and long term

We then had a brief meditation before Saraswathi pooja which all
students did at home.

Our meditation was to focus on the turning points of our breath. In
Vigyan Bhairava Tantra it is mentioned that Devi or shakthi appears at
the turning points of our breath. We tried and focussed on one point
between inhalation and exhalation. Meditating on Devi at this point
makes us stronger and calmer. We feel a sense of gratitude for our
blessed life. Devi with all her power is blessing the whole mankind..

Our next Bala Vihar class is on October 22nd.
