Hari om everyone,
We started the class with a few minutes of meditation. In our chanting segment, we learnt 4 verses from 'geetaa dhyaanam' and verses 39 - 49 from 'BG chapter 2'.
Continuing our Mahaabhaarata review, we saw the stories of paaNDavas' childhood; Bheema being poisoned and thrown into the river; Bheema consuming 8 glasses of elixir in naagaloka and becoming 800 elephants strong; and the story of Drona and Drupada.
In our interactive segment, we had a bunch of questions regarding different incidents that we have reviewed from Mahaabhaarata. Questions were pertaining to the causes of specific incidents and their outcomes/effects. We were impressed to see that most of the answers were on point! They have been great listeners and recollected from their previous years' learnings as well.
The logical leading questions were about themselves and their understanding of their own real-life situations. We asked about their reason for going to school and the outcome of it. Further on, we asked for their reasons for procrastinating work and its effect. Next, the reason for their laziness and its outcome. The following question was about the reason for their grades and the outcome of their results. We appreciated their honesty on all these questions!
The culminating question was - who is responsible for your decisions?
The answers were unanimous - I, me, myself! (This sure is a bunch of responsible students who take accountability :)
We had to wrap up the discussion at this point. We were going to participate in the virtual Saraswati pooja, in lieu of navaraatri celebrations, with everyone at Bala Vihar. We will continue the discussion in our next class.
It was wonderful to perform pooja on Zoom, collectively. Hope you all had nice celebrations too.
Will take leave with this message to mull over -
Regards,
Rashmi and Raghav.
