Oct 31, 2021 - Grade 9 (Sunday AM)

Hari om parents,
Apologies for sending the weekly summary late.

This was a short class. The class was divided into different groups based on the houses - Arjuna's Arrows, Bajrangi's Bolts, Krishna's Cowboys and Durga's Daredevils. The activity done based on the houses was to create a mock event based on a scene from Mahahbarata, create a tweet account of a news portal, select a few key characters from Mahabharata related to the scene and how these characters react to this scene based tweets from them. All this had to be captured in two slides and described to the judges.

Brainstorming instruction that student followed:

  • Pick the name of your Newspaper and Twitter handle. You can use this site - https://poll.ly/#/

  • Decide which part of the situation you want to focus on. What do you want to be the headline? Come up with a tweet with good hashtags (use tweetgen or templates given below)

  • Which two characters do you pick to face off? Decide on one more characters who will be the followers

  • Design the main profile page for your Newspaper (Slide 4)

  • Use Tweet gen or the template slide to come up with the Newsflash tweet followed by responses from the group. Then come up with tweets from 2 different characters responding to the same! Use Hashtags and be as creative as possible. No need to stick to the facts. But make it believable. You can use emojis and images as you like.

  • The final presentation slide assigned to your House should have your profile page, news headline or flash, followed by responses sequenced nicely. (Min of 10 tweets and Max of 24 tweets.)

  • Pick one or two people to present as news desk reporters in the Assembly – they will share the tweets and read it out or comment on it!
