Any type of work is noble if it is done as an act of selflessness. This will exhaust the vasanas.
Can any karma be considered - nishkama karma - I'm not doing for me or doing it for God ie. offerings or prayers to God.
Every action we do is a sacrifice. Attitude of sacrifice is not there and we don't have the awareness. It is the attitude that goes with the action that makes it right or wrong. When we eat food, it is Brahman, creator ie we are sacrificing it to Brahman. Thus alteration of attitude in a simple act of eating food can be act of sacrifice.
Yagna - samskrita is purely etymological - we need to go into the meaning of the word
yaja deva pujayam ie. it is a worship. Deva has etymology with several meanings. Simple definition of yagna - profit potential - ie. ability to give you what you want. Purohit advises us to do sankalpam while doing puja ie. we go with a begging bowl. We need to move to a higher state but we are not there. Doing it for "Lakshmi narayana Preethyartham" is worship.
In the shloka - when the praja was created, at the time of creation, kamadukh - cow that gives us whatever we desire ie. ATM. In order to do this, we have to have the money or pay it at the end of the cycle. IF we have enough merits and we do action in the yagna bhavana, we can get what we want. Learned people when they sit for bhojan, will not talk, because it is considered as yagna. There is a lot of activity that needs to happen for the food to go through the body to get digested. For example, there is a shloka in Purushottham Yoga, in all the bhootha's, unless the agni is there, all the prana functions through which the energy is created and dissipated,
Chatur annam Chaturvidham. - 4 types of annam - bakshya - main courses that we bite, side dishes bhoja - bite, lehya - roll and swallow, jyoshya - drink. Bhagawan tells us that he is in our abdomen and helping digest this. We cannot take ownership for this. Anything that is done in the interest of the masses, man has succeeded. For eg: atomic energy, we have succeeded for larger good. Let this be your kamadukh, it will satisfy any desire for lokakalyan. If Lokakalyana not included in that? Universal attitude in the mind.
Yagna is also Dhana and Sangati karana - Dhana means donation. I don't like one of my 20 shirts which I decide to donate is not considered dhana. How many things have sacrificed themselves to become food for us. Every atom in the body has a nature of sacrifice so the other parts can survive/live. For eg: keep water on the stove to let it boil. Yagna Bhavana is there everywhere - take surya - comes in and goes away on schedule. Bring yagna attitude in every aspect of our lives.
Pindanda(Microcosm) - Brahmanda(Macrocosm)
It is a universal principle that there is sacrifice all around us ie. yagna bhavana is there. We are what we are because so many taught us, so many people have made us what we are today and it is our responsibility to do our bit. Hard work is encouraged in our shastras. Do the work with correct understanding ie. gnyana which will lead us to excellence.
