SPIRIT DAY Fun Activity We had the spirit day and had fun activities for every grade, understanding about a few great sages and saints of India. Our class decoded an encrypted story on Poosalar Nayanar, an exemplary devotee of Lord Shiva who built an elaborate temple in his mind for the Lord. Pleased with his steadfast devotion, Lord Shiva chose to be present at the consecration of this temple in the mind of his devotee rather than a physical temple built by a King! The story illustrated the value of true devotion and how the Lord never requires physical tributes, but only responds to the devotee's true faith. We did a 30 second thought experiment if we could walk through the process of making a pizza (!) steadily for the entire time. It was difficult! Clearly Poosalar Nayanar performed a monumental feat of concentration and focus to build a richly detailed temple in his mind.
The session concluded with the assembly and recitation of the Shanti mantras and pledge.
