prakrteh kriyamanani gunaih karmani sarvasah
ahankara-vimudhatma kartahamiti manyate
The unwise person thinks that they are doing all actions. But it is our gunas which are doing the actions. The wise knows the actions are based on the gunas (nature) and hence not expecting any results. The gunas (nature) is making us do the actions.
The unwise feels he / she is the doer as the ego is identifying with the mental state (satvic / rajasic / tamasic)
If one is a manager of a team you can look at team dynamics and not at the individual level. The department head is looking at various teams at a higher level. Think like a CEO and act like a leader.
"I" attaches to the ego qualities. If a person attaches to or identifies with the Body / Mind or Intellect, the ego makes the person feels that he / she is the doer of all actions.
A paradigm shift can help to make you look at things in a different way. Ignorant man thinks he is doing the actions. With a paradigm shift one can know the that gunas are doing the actions not the person.
Example - When we are advising to others it is easier to look at things in a different view point.
Awareness of emotions that are coming can help you transform. No one is born with equanimity, it is a learned skillset.
A karma yogi is trying to be in equanimity. Emotions exists in all of us. Example - Ice when heated becomes water and water when boiled becomes vapor or steam and no one can feel it. But steam can move an engine, it is active.
When an emotion arises what is does to me. Am I ice cold or Tamasic, Am I boiling or Rajasic or am I taking actions with empathy - Satvic. The state of mind gives 3 different emotions and actions.
Discussion on Chandas - literal meaning of chandas is "closed box". it is meant to be sacred and not secret. The chandas are saved only for those who can use it.
All karmas are done specifically created by gunas. Connection between Brahmanda and Pindanda. We hear, touch, see, taste and smell things. They are Gnyan Indriyas. Connect with Brahmanda. For them to function Brahman is needed. Like, to hear (ears), we need space, to see (eyes) we need light, to touch (skin) we need air, to taste (tongue) we need water, to smell (nose) we need earth.
Watch your mind when anger comes, know that you are angry but do not become anger itself. Acknowledge emotions and give the right outlet.
Finer from - tanmantras -all organs need to function properly
As the light has 7 colors so does the Sun god has 7 horses.
We are made up of gunas, gunas are indriyas and they have elements in Brahman.
Prakruti has no ichha, Chetana has ichha. Gunas act but we take ownership of actions.
Seed has a swabhava to become a tree but needs a gardener to water and take care of the seed for it to be a tree.
Same with Chetana, needs God to take care & nourish to be able to flourish.
Chapter 3 - Shloka 28
tattva-vittu mahabaho guna-karma-vibhagayoh
guna gunesu vartana iti matva na sajjate
A gnyani understands the emotions but does not attach to it. The gnyani stand a far and observes. The gnyani knows that the actions are due to prakruti or gunas. Rama was sad and crying when Ravana took away Sita. Parvati decided to take the form of Sita and meet with Rama. Rama, even in his sad state recognized Parvati as Sita and asked Parvati where is Shiva
