Hari Om Parents!
Today was the First class of Balavihar 2021-2022!! Here is the summary of what we covered in class today:
After everyone joined the Zoom session:
1. We started the class with the Opening prayers. We chanted Om three times and then chanted Sahana vavatu. Kids joined along with parents.
2. Then we introduced ourselves and asked each kid to introduce themselves by saying their name, favorite God, favorite color, favorite sport, and favorite ice-cream as an Ice breaker session and Attendance was marked as each kid spoke. Kids opened up and responded well.
3. Then the weekly class format and class curriculum was explained, to the parents and kids.
4. We started today's Brainstorming session by discussing about God Ganesha, his long trunk, his wide ears, his vehicle, why we pray to him first and the Ganesh Chaturthi festival which we all recently celebrated.
5. For Slokha time, one of kids chanted Ganesha slokha, Saraswathi slokha and couple more slokhas.
6. For Yoga, we did Jumping Jacks, Tree Pose and Lion Pose. All kids participated.
7. For Story time, we told the Ganesh and the divine Mango story. Kids listened with attention and answered questions from the story after.
8. Then we asked them to color the Ganesh picture provided while we played Ganesha slokha in the background, and kids filled in lovely bright colors.
9.After this, we joined the main Zoom session with everyone for listening to Swamiji, and for aarthi and pledge as it was the first session of Bala Vihar.
It was a great first session with active participation by all kids. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with your wonderful kids and looking forward to all the classes, please encourage kids to join each class. Special thanks to the parents for sitting through today's session.
